Saving Grace is a permanent sober home for women over 18 that have at least six months of sober time. It is a beautiful Victorian home that provides affordable sober living at a graduate level. Saving Grace is part of LHATR which provides a host of residential programs including male and female sober living, halfway houses, and their new adolescent house in Reading , MA serving yr old male and females. MASH serves as the primary agency for accountability of all certified homes in Massachusetts. It can be very difficult to find funding for sober living home projects in any state, and Massachusetts is no different. It’s worth keeping an eye on this agency to see if they’ll make a similar move in the future.

They should reject half the applicants as anyone can tell they have no desire to be sober just need a place to crash. Stop looking for the almighty dollar once in awhile and look for some recovery before admitting some of these jerks. The program serves women from diverse backgrounds, circumstances, and age groups, all of whom share the same struggle with addiction. It is only refundable if you complete the intake process, and if you give 30-days’ notice.

Failure to secure adequate insurance exposes operators to financial liabilities and legal challenges. In the Halfway house event of a lawsuit or claim, uninsured operators may face substantial expenses, jeopardizing the operation of the sober house and resident well-being. MASH certification is crucial for operating a reputable and successful sober house in Massachusetts. It opens the door to state agency referrals, builds your credibility in the recovery community, and ensures you provide residents with a safe, supportive living environment. What’s the difference between a sober home and a recovery residence? Recovery residences —formerly known as halfway houses — are licensed residential treatment programs, while Massachusetts sober homes are peer-led and do not provide treatment. The Residential Assistance Program (RAP) is a critical funding source for individuals seeking financial support for sober living in Massachusetts.

Their medical and clinical directors guide individuals through an assessment to determine which drug and alcohol treatment fits best. ASAM’s criteria uses six dimensions to create a holistic, biopsychosocial assessment of an individual to be used for planning and treatment across all levels of care. Community members are all people in recovery who are actively working a program of recovery. Our main focus is to provide a safe and sober environment for recovering addicts and alcoholics.

A policy and practice that residents be informed of payments from 3rd party payers for any fees paid on their behalf. A policy and practice documenting that a resident is fully informed regarding refund policies prior to the individual entering into a binding agreement. Use of an accounting system which documents all resident financial transactions such as fees, payments and deposits. VSL Chartered Operators receive mock inspection templates, pre-inspection checklists, and coaching to ensure they’re fully prepared.

Job descriptions include staff responsibilities, eligibility, and knowledge, skills and abilities needed to deliver services. Ideally, eligibility to deliver services includes lived experience recovering from substance use disorders and the ability to reflect recovery principles. Peer support interactions among residents are facilitated to expand responsibilities for personal and community recovery. Grievance policy and procedures, including the right to take grievances that are not resolved by the house leadership to the operation’s oversight organization for mediation.

As the state’s affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR), MASH ensures that sober living homes meet strict standards for safety, support, and structure. Residents of sober homes are expected to abstain from alcohol and drug use, other than prescribed medications, and to refrain from prescription misuse. Payment terms for sober homes vary, and residents are given written house agreements. MASH-certified sober homes are governed by standards that address safety from an administrative, operational, property, and “good neighbor” perspective. Most of our community has been through an inpatient rehab program or halfway house and have learned about the disease of addiction and the tools needed in order to stay sober.
